Our company has been meeting these expectations since its beginnings as a small equipment rental company in 1964. Over the years, founder and owner J.W. Mitchell, Jr. transformed his original modest company into a highly successful general engineering/contracting firm.

In 1977, the firm was established as J.W. Mitchell Co., Inc. Its first order of business was to develop and build new corporate headquarters and facilities, which required procuring the land, acquiring all required approvals and delivering the final office warehouse complex. This effort proved successful and many projects followed.


After these initial successes, J.W Mitchell, Jr. decided to concentrate the company’s efforts in seeking additional real estate opportunities. The heavy engineering business was sold and the company expanded their horizons into real estate investment, acquisition, development and property management.
